The vehicle has averaged right around 7800 miles per year, that's really low considering most average drivers put 15000 miles per year on a vehicle. Mechanically I normally have my vehicles for about a week before I put them up for sale. This allows me enough time to drive every single vehicle for a couple days before I get them serviced. I like doing this because it gives me a great idea on the mechanical / cosmetic condition of the car. I drove this car from Louisville KY back to Kokomo IN (220 miles) and it drove great. The gas mileage is amazing, gets right around 38-39 mpg on the highway and 30 mpg in town. The engine does not make any abnormal noises, no ticking or knocking. It starts right up, idles very smooth when in park and accelerates without any hesitation or jerking. The transmission shifts very smooth through all the gears with no issues, it doesn't clunk or shift in to gear hard. Highway passing gear is also great with no abnormal "jerking". The steering feels good with no abnormal play at highway speeds (65-70 mph). There are no mechanical issues with the car at all and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it on a 1000 mile round trip. Within the last couple days I had the car inspected by a ASE certified repair facility. He inspected it and told me its a very solid vehicle. He put it up on the lift and inspected the undercarriage (bottom of engine and transmission) and there was no fluid leaks. He checked the fluid level and condition of the transmission and it was full and clean. He took it for a test drive and the engine & transmission operates without any issues. He replace the engine oil & filter, replaced the muffler and all other maintenance is up to date. There are no mechanical issues with the vehicle so I am including a nation wide warranty through a warranty company at no additional cost ( $0 deductible ). You are also welcome to have the vehicle inspected by your own mechanic as well. If you do a internet search on these Corollas, you will see that the 1.8L 4-cylinder engine is good for a long time. A lot of these have north of 180.000 miles and are still in great running condition, I have personally seen them in the 250.000 miles range still running great. This one has has right around 70,000 miles so it still has alot of life left. The AC and heat works great, cruise works just like it should, power windows work, power door locks work and so does the radio. The car was very well cared for by the previous owner and it definitely shows. The over all paint condition is in great shape considering its a 2001.
