2002 Volkswagen Golf GLS TDI

The car has averaged right around 7400 miles per year, that's really good considering most drivers put 15,000 miles per year on a vehicle. This is one of the lowest mileage Diesel VW's I have seen, normally a TDI in the 2002 to 2004 model year has well over 150,000 miles. The previous owner purchased the car new back in 2002, the car had 57 miles on it when it was titled. I have the original 1-owner title showing purchase date and mileage at the time it was first registered. I drove this Golf from Louisville KY back to Kokomo IN (220 miles), the gas mileage is amazing. I drove it 200 miles straight highway driving and the rest was city driving. I was avg close to 45 mpg on the highway and 35 in town. I did a search on the internet and there are owners reporting close to 50 mpg highway driving in these TDI's. The car drives great on the highway with cruise set on 65 mph with no abnormal noises. The engine does not make any weird noises, it starts right up, idles smooth when in neutral and accelerates without any hesitation or jerking. The transmission shifts smooth through all gears with no issues. The steering feels nice and tight with no noise when making sharp turns in the parking lot, and the suspension feels good with no noises when going over bumps on the road. There are no mechanical issues with this car at all and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it coast to coast. Within the last couple days I had the car inspected by a ASE certified repair facility. He inspected it and told me its a very solid car. He put it up on a lift and inspected the engine/transmission and he also took it for a test drive. The engine and transmission did not have any mechanical issues and operate as they should. He told me that the car appears to have been very well cared for mechanically. He replaced the oil & filter, replaced all 4 glow plugs and all other maintenance was up to date. If you look around on any other car site that has vehicles for sale, you will see that these 1.9L Diesel engines are good for a long time. A lot of these have north of 200.000 miles and are still in excellent condition. I found a VW Diesel owners club on the internet with several owners reporting between 250.000-300.000 miles on their 1.9L Diesel engine. This one has right around 67.000 miles so it still has a lot of life left. The AC and heat works great, power sunroof works, heated seats work, power windows work, cruise works just like it should and so does the radio. There are no electrical issues with the car. The car was very well cared for by the previous owner and it definitely shows. The over all paint condition is in great shape with no clear coat issues or rust. It was more then likely garage kept because the paint has a very nice and deep gloss to it. The seats and carpet are very clean in the car. The driver seat does not have any abnormal wear on it and no stains, neither does any of the other seats. Financing is available and we do take trade in's.
